Wisconsin Academy of Audiology
Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: June 18, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing a membership, registering for an event, or enrolling in a course offered by the Wisconsin Academy of Audiology (“WAA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you (“Member” or “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not complete your purchase or registration.
WAA is a Wisconsin nonprofit organization. These Terms govern all transactions processed through our website and through our third-party payment processor, Stripe.
2. Membership
2a. Membership Types
WAA offers several membership categories, including but not limited to individual audiologist memberships, student memberships, and organizational/institutional memberships. Specific membership tiers, eligibility requirements, and associated dues are described on our membership page at the time of purchase.
2b. Eligibility
Membership is open to the public; however, certain membership categories (e.g., licensed audiologist, audiology student) may require verification of credentials. WAA reserves the right to verify eligibility and to decline or cancel memberships that do not meet stated criteria.
2c. Annual Auto-Renewal
All memberships are set to renew automatically on an annual basis. You authorize WAA and Stripe to charge your payment method on file for the then-current membership dues on your renewal date each year, unless you cancel before that date.
You will receive a renewal reminder by email at least 5 days before your renewal date. It is your responsibility to ensure your contact and payment information on file is current.
2d. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting WAA at the email or address provided in Section 10.
- If you cancel fewer than 30 days after your renewal date, or after your renewal date has passed, the renewal charge is non-refundable and your membership benefits will continue through the end of the paid membership period.
- No refunds will be issued for unused portions of a membership term, partial-year cancellations, or early terminations except as required by law.
3. Event and Course Registrations
3a. Registration
Event and course registrations are confirmed upon receipt of full payment. WAA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events due to insufficient enrollment, speaker unavailability, or circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, registered attendees will receive a full refund or a credit toward a future event.
3b. Refunds for Events and Courses
Refund eligibility for individual events and courses is governed by the specific refund policy stated at the time of registration. Unless otherwise specified:
- Cancellations made 30 or more days before the event date will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations made fewer than 30 days before the event date are non-refundable.
- No refunds will be issued for no-shows or cancellations after the event has begun.
4. Payments and Billing
All payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. WAA does not store your full credit card number or payment credentials on our servers. By providing your payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method and authorize WAA to charge the applicable fees.
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars. WAA reserves the right to change membership dues or event fees at any time; any changes to dues will be communicated prior to your next renewal date.
If a payment fails, WAA will notify you and may suspend access to membership benefits until the payment is resolved. Stripe may attempt to reprocess failed payments in accordance with its standard retry schedule.
5. Use of Membership Benefits
Membership benefits are non-transferable and are for the sole use of the registered member. Sharing login credentials, member discounts, or access to member-only resources with non-members is prohibited and may result in membership termination without refund.
6. Intellectual Property
All content provided through WAA membership, events, and courses—including course materials, presentations, publications, and resources—is the property of WAA or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. Members may use materials for personal, professional, and educational purposes but may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or publicly display WAA content without prior written permission.
7. Privacy
WAA collects and uses your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy. WAA will not sell your personal information to third parties.
8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
WAA provides its services, events, and educational content “as is” and makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any content or materials.
To the fullest extent permitted by Wisconsin law, WAA’s total liability to any member or registrant for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by that individual to WAA in the 12 months preceding the claim. WAA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Wisconsin.
WAA encourages members to contact us directly to resolve any disputes before pursuing formal legal action.
